My name is Allie, and I am a female 25-year-old Customer Service Team Leader. Last year I was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes, and ever since this diagnosis, I realized that taking care of my health and being fit is a necessity.
Type 1 Diabetes is a health condition that is mostly found in children and young adults, and it can be a dangerous condition to have, for the pancreas produces little or no insulin. Insulin is an essential hormone because it gets glucose from the blood, and transports it into body cells. However without insulin, body cells cannot get glucose, and without glucose, the body cannot get energy.
Therefore, symptoms of Type 1 Diabetes, which I have, are excessive thirst, fatigue, hunger, blurred vision, nausea or vomiting, excessive urination, fast heart rate, headache, sleeplessness, and weight loss.
These symptoms are serious, and I understand I must take the appropriate steps to make sure I control the symptoms of Type 1 Diabetes – by being alert, fit and living a very healthy lifestyle. I make sure I check my blood glucose level regularly and I administer insulin.
I, Allie am ready to get the right amount of exercise because if I have the right amount of food, insulin doses, and exercise, I will be able to be the best I can be. Exercise can be fun because I have a dog called Buster, and at least twice a week, we go on walks with me donning the best walking sneakers of 2016. I also jog during time spent with Buster. Because Buster goes with me, I strictly stick to my walking and jogging schedule.
We take challenging hiking trails and after each hike, and I feel a lot of satisfaction, for I feel invigorated after exploring and getting the exercise I need.
One hiking trail is the Runyon Canyon Loop in Runyon Canyon, Los Angeles. It is about three miles round-trip, and there is a lot to explore! The views at Cloud’s Rest is spectacular, and so is the Sunset Strip, L.A. Basin, and Hollywood Hills. Furthermore, take a look at million dollar mansions. An extra advantage is that the trail has an off-leash policy for dogs.
Another hiking destination that I enjoy with Buster is Franklin Canyon Park, also in Los Angeles. It is frequently used as a TV location for the purpose of making films, like the hitchhiking scene from ‘It Happened One Night’ with Clark Gable and Claudette Colbert.
The distance is about one mile round-trip, and the trail to follow is called Discovery Trail, and I enjoy it. Places to explore are the Franklin Canyon Lake and the Sooky Goldman Nature Center.
Going on any trail means wearing the right footwear, in order to have a smooth hike and preventing injuries. One option is to have the support of a hiking boot while also having the lightweight feature of a trail running shoe. Sneakers to consider are the Salomon Ellipse GTX, Merrell Siren Sport 2, Ahnu Sugarpine Air Fresh, Salomon X Ultra GTX, and the Merrell Moab Ventilator.
i choose to wear the Merrell Moab Ventilator as I go hiking. So far, I plan to stick to my schedule, as I have enjoyed the walks and jogs I have been on, and also loved the scenery along the way.
Perhaps I am now the best I can be. I continue to feel motivated, and make sure I stick to my fitness schedule. By the way, if you’d like information on walking shoes, the best shoes for standing, and the like, just ask me!
